Family / 74 Units Sheldon Oak Central (SOC) is completing the renovation of the former Horace Bushnell Apartments, a complex consisting of nine contiguous historically significant brick buildings located on 4-40 Vine Street.

The project will create approximately 74 units of decent, affordable service-enriched housing adjacent to a major North End retail corridor. Horace Bushnell is located on public transit lines and within walking distance of a health clinic, schools, libraries, social service agencies and other public amenities.

SOC intends to preserve and restore the historic character of the structures while upgrading the heating and cooling systems to promote energy efficiency and improve quality of life for residents. Roofs, porches, doors and windows will be replaced, as will decorative fencing. Kitchens and bathrooms will be upgraded. Security and parking will be enhanced
