The Homestead, Nantucket

The Homestead is a private non-profit organization dedicated to providing residential services to older adults who choose a more simplified lifestyle in the company of their peers. The Homestead is located in a gracious Victorian home on upper Main St. and serves individuals that are 65 and older and are able to enjoy a minimally structured environment. The services to our maximum 13 residents include private rooms, meals, laundry, housekeeping, medication management and some activities. The Homestead Incorporated of Nantucket was founded in 1919 as a private non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to older adults. Over the years, The Homestead has been able to offer individuals a comfortable family environment for those choosing a more simplified and carefree lifestyle.

We are located in a gracious Victorian home on the tree-lined streets of downtown Nantucket. Upon entering, you feel the warmth and personality this location has to offer. At 115 Main Street for over 75 years, The Homestead has maintained a long term commitment to providing the highest quality of service to the residents who stay with us. Each of our 14 rooms comes with its own half or full bath, and offers the comfort and style unique to its lovely setting. There is a night supervisor on duty to assist in handling any emergency that may arise during evening, weekend or holiday hours. Also, each resident has an emergency button should they need to summon immediate assistance.

The Homestead provides laundry and housekeeping services, though each resident is expected to make their beds daily and maintain a neat space. Assistance with medication management, including prescriptions refills, is also provided to our residents, and each resident is encouraged to take part in this program to ensure the proper administration of their prescribed medication.
