Program Details
When Sheldon Oak Central acquired the property in the mid-1990s, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Housing Project was a dilapidated and crime-ridden 112-unit development. In 1997, SOC reduced density to 64 apartments, creating several acres of attractive landscaped open space and a Resource Center. Over 200 community volunteers participated in a project to build a playground.
